This page contains details about the school day. Much more information can be found in the latest School Prospectus, which can be found in the ‘Information’ and then ‘Useful Documents’ section of this website.
The school gates are unlocked in the morning at 8:30am when parents and children can enter the playground (there are gates on Back Lane and the two gates on the Clappers Footpath). During this ‘soft start’ to the school day (8:30 to 8:45am), children are welcomed into school by members of staff who are on duty. Parents are requested to drop off their children and then leave the playground area, unless they need to pass on any messages or talk to a member of staff on duty. Before children enter the playground area and pass the barriers, please note that children are the responsibility of their parents or carers.
The main school bell rings for the official start to the school day at 8:45am. Registration takes place from 8:45am to 8:55am. Any children arriving after this time will be marked as late - which will impact on their attendance percentage.
Lunchtime runs from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm for all children. Teaching Assistants and members of the Leadership Team are on duty every day, with Mealtime Supervisors on duty in the dining hall. Afternoon registration runs from 1:00pm to 1:10pm.
The school gates are unlocked at 3:10pm when parents can enter the school field. The school day ends for all children at 3:15pm. All teaching staff bring their classes onto the field and check who children are going home with (unless older children have been given parental permission to walk home on their own or with friends).
If you are likely to arrive late in the afternoon to collect your child(ren), please let us know by contacting the main school office on 01553 840397. All children will be looked after near the main school office at the end of the school day if they haven’t been collected.
