Schools must aim to have the highest attendance possible for all their pupils in order for them to achieve their maximum potential. An attendance below 90% is regarded as persistent absence. We need to work together to ensure that all children attend school regularly, unless they are too ill to do so, to ensure that their learning is not impacted.
Please remember that holidays during term time will not be authorised and may meet the criteria for a Fixed Penalty Notice.
Our Attendance Officer is Mrs Victoria Turner. If you have an attendance query, please contact her directly via email: attendance@westwinch.norfolk.sch.uk and she will be happy to help you.
To promote good attendance, in each newsletter we share the class attendance figures for the month and a class certificate is awarded.
We also celebrate the class with the highest attendance each week in our Attendance Assembly. This class gets an extra play time that week.
Letters will be sent out each half-term to the parents/carers of any child with an attendance less than 90%.
Our school attendance for the academic year 2024 to 2025 was 95.5% (National 93.1%) . Our aspirational attendance target for the academic year 2025 to 2026 is 97%.
